back in IStanbul

walking the streets of Istanbul, i see faces from Vienna. i mistake faces from here for faces from Vienna.
late at nights after leaving the studio, i want to go sleep in my room in the 3rd district and have coffee in the morning with Dani. i want to stop by BOEM and walk in augarten. sneak into the zoo without paying money. have lovely conversations with Franziska. stop by Bettina's class and MAren's class and make more animations at Thomas' class. and spend more time out on the streets and underground.
given a choice, i would still chose to live in Istanbul in a room with a backdoor that opens up to the bamboos in the botanical garden next to the BElvedere.

boem, rhiz, white dreams, christmas shirt, fluc

so i guess that was a christmas night!
boem was great! with some fun lights and excellent food and beautiful people.
after 1 a.m left for rhiz.
it s such a pleasure to talk to people of some intellect & sharpwit.
even eyes tell it all and still, talking directly is such a bliss!

good sleep and good dreams during the day
waking up in the afternoon to laugh at the jokes: black book
i call this a holiday, all right!

Fran: You know, in Tibet, if they want something, do you know what they do? They give something away.
Bernard: They do, do they? That must be why they're such a dominant global power.

and some good electronic music at fluc
first with deniz, afterwords alone but never alone

stepping out to get a slice of pizza; the pizza man is TUrkish; pizza is on the house;
he used to work on a ship in istinye. he sends his regards to istanbul. he is good.
3 slices of free pizza. i share that with a person i meet at fluc. i watch the dj. slowly drink my last beer.

i like unexpected good things
and oh yes i had missed such a sleep... from dream onto anothe rdream
this is what i call a holiday
a few days of break will do me good
and i still did not frget to continue sound recordings - today at fluc

orane and i we sit on the heater as it is freezing after watching 2 documentaries
the first one is PRETTY DIANA (boris mitic)(and the next one is alexandar manic's THE SHUTKA

An intimate look at Gypsy refugees in Belgrade suburb who make a living by transfoming Citroen's classic 2cv and Dyana cars into Mad Max-like recycling vehicles, with which they ollect cardoard, bottles and scrap metal. These modern horses are much more efficient than the cart-pushing competition, but more important - they also mean freedom, hope and style for their crafty owners. Even the car batteries are used as power generators in order to get some light, watch tv and recharge mobiles! Almost an alchemist's dream come true! But the police doesn't allways find these strange vehicles funny...

kurt vonnegut

this was last week i guess. had fish soup at the kantine. not a good idea... next time i ever go, i should order a lentil soup. that was the recommendation of the waiter... yes i asked for recommendation after already having eaten the so called fish soup.

kantine is by the museums quartier. nice atmosphere; nice music; i guess also good food but i did not taste that yet. however, the lemon grass tea was good for the soul and not so good for the pocket/purse. well, it is ok. once in a while. still i cook much better at home in the 3rd district.

finally, i bought sucuk from the shop that is open till 10pm everyday. of course it is run by a turkish family. today i met the mother and the daughter. the mother recommended me the brand for the sucuk. amazing, i never thought i would like to eat meat.

but it all happened yesterday around 9 pm. after visiting steph's exibition near TAborstrase (in tribute to vasıf kortun). so i went to cafe boem. koppstrase. 16th district. there was the photographer, the father of 2 lovely children: robert. and there was another drinking mastika. it smelled so good! and i was hungry. and there was free food! a pot of white cheese, olives, olive oil and sucuk! it is bosnian sucuk and i was so hungry it was so good. along with mastika it was better. a lovely girl, MAya was at the counter. i had some handcreme - left it to her- glad it will be good for her hands that get dry due to washing glasses all the time. yes so that was all the story of sucuk. i started to eat sucuk here in vienna because of dropping by an i guess serbian cafe and eating bosnian sucuk...
